Accessible Canada Act

A National Plan for Access.
A 2040 Deadline.
A Partner to Get You There.

The Accessible Canada Act (ACA) commits federally regulated organizations to a plan-feedback-report cycle on the road to a barrier-free Canada by 2040. We help you build the accessibility plan, digital audits, and reporting process it requires.

What is the Accessible Canada Act?

The Accessible Canada Act (ACA), in force since 2019, is federal legislation aimed at identifying, removing, and preventing barriers to accessibility, with the goal of a barrier-free Canada by 2040. Unlike WCAG-centric laws, the ACA is built around a recurring cycle: organizations must develop an accessibility plan, run a feedback process, and publish progress reports.

At D2i Technology, we help federally regulated organizations turn that cycle into something concrete - an accessibility plan with real commitments, a working feedback channel, and digital accessibility work (typically aligned to WCAG 2.1 AA) that backs it up.

Non-compliance carries real consequence: Accessibility Standards Canada and the Accessibility Commissioner can issue administrative monetary penalties, and accessibility plans must be renewed at least once every three years - this isn't a one-time filing.
